The first sorority at NCSU, Sigma Kappa currently has a membership of over 130 sisters. The Gamma Phi chapter has long been regarded as one of the most outstanding in the country by our national organization. Sigma Kappa at NCSU has continued the tradition of involvement in all aspects of campus life that our founding sisters began in 1960.
We are involved in many on-campus organizations such as Student Government and are recognized scholastically through membership in prestigious academic honor societies such as the Golden Key Society, Golden Chain, Order of Omega, Phi Eta Sigma and Phi Kappa Phi. We are also extremely proud to have valedictorians, Park Scholars and Centennial Scholars as members. As a chapter, we continue to give back through service to Sigma Kappa, as well as within campus, other Greek organizations and the Raleigh community. In 2018, we gave over 1,000 hours of service. In 2019, we donated over $22,000 to the Sigma Kappa Foundation through fundraising and individual member donations to help support our foundation’s mission at the UltraViolet Gala. In 2020, we virtually hosted a virtual raffle in place of our UltraViolet Gala and raised over $11,000 to support the Sigma Kappa Foundation.
